Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, the hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and your browser’s user agent, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel may process data in the USA; it is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Contact form

If you send a message through the form, your name, email address and message are forwarded by email so I can reply, using the email service Resend (Resend Inc., USA). The data is used only to answer your enquiry and is deleted when it is no longer needed. Legal basis: your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and legitimate interest in answering it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can also write to me directly by email instead.

AI assistant

Questions you type into the assistant are sent to the language-model provider Anthropic PBC (USA) to generate an answer about my profile. This site does not store the conversation. Please do not enter personal or confidential information. If the language model is unavailable, answers come from a search that runs on this site without any third party. Legal basis: legitimate interest in offering the assistant (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); using it is optional.

Stored in your browser

Your choice of light or dark theme and of language is saved in your browser’s local storage, so it stays the same on your next visit. It is never sent to a server and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Write to the email address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW).
